Artist Turned Me Into A Disney Princess

Madeline McQueen

Updated: Jan 17

In 2020/2021, I contacted a tattoo artist that I followed (Ashley Luka on Instagram) who was creating pictures of people, turning them into Disney characters.

I had been considering getting a cartoon version of myself to put on my Youtube channel background and possibly other social media sites for the past couple of years prior to this. So I contacted Ashley and asked if she wouldn't mind doing one for me.

As Ashley requested, I sent her a picture of myself and some details that I asked if she could add them which all represented what I did, and this is what she created.

And I still love it!

I asked for the character to be carrying a crying mask up close to her smiling face as if she just took the mask off and she was smiling underneath. This is to represent the Sock and Buskin theatre masks which represents my acting/me being an actress.

The graduation hat is to mostly represent that I'm a qualified and professional actress who graduated from a theatre arts college after studying acting, and a little to do with when I was a Salsa teacher.

I asked if the character could be carrying an open book to represent that I'm an author with a couple of books that have been published.

The red dress and shoes represent that I was a Salsa dancer.

The character is in a catwalk pose to represent that I have modelled and have modelled since.

She's not stick thin like most Disney Princesses, she's the average size. Ashley said she made her a size 14 for what a Disney Princess would look like and seeing as I'm size 14, that was perfect.

Ashley made her with 3 different background colours. I didn't ask for different backgrounds, Ashley sent them over which was a lovely surprise and nice to have an option.

All in all, Ashley is a talented artist and I'm extremely pleased with how this came out. It's also wikid to see what I might look like if I was turned into a Disney princess. With how this looks, I'm flattered. 😊
